Sylius Developer (m/f/d)

We are building a small, experienced team working on production-ready systems.
If you enjoy ownership, focused work, and building things that ship, take a look.

About tokenforge

At tokenforge, we're a lean, international team building asset lifecycle management software for digital financial products in regulated capital markets. We work hands on, take ownership, and care about building software our clients actually rely on. Engineers, designers, compliance, and founders work side by side, with flat hierarchies and short decision paths. Everyone has a voice and can contribute ideas. We're looking for an experienced Sylius developer to help rebuild our platform on Sylius 2.0, carrying over the experience, domain logic, and proven concepts from our existing Sylius 1.4 platform. You have a deep understanding of the Sylius framework, spot breaking changes early, and can run the migration in a structured, reliable way.

Your Responsibilities

Migration & Architecture

  • Analyze the existing Sylius 1.4 codebase and identify all migration-critical areas (entities, plugins, customizations)
  • Design and implement a new Sylius 2.0 codebase setup that reflects existing domain requirements and learnings from Sylius 1.4
  • Plan and carry out the step-by-step migration to Sylius 2.0, including the Symfony upgrade
  • Reimplement and refactor selected customizations and domain logic according to Sylius 2.0 architecture principles (stack, resource layer, etc.)
  • Migrate and adapt all third-party plugins in use for Sylius 2.0 compatibility
  • Ensure database migrations (Doctrine) run without data loss

Quality Assurance & Testing

  • Build and maintain a comprehensive test suite (PHPUnit, Behat) for the migrated components
  • Run regression tests and identify sources of error in the migration process
  • Code reviews and documentation of the changes made

Collaboration

  • Coordinate closely with the Lead Developer and the product team to prioritize migration packages
  • Communicate risks, dependencies, and progress in regular updates

Your Profile

Required Skills

  • Several years of experience developing with Sylius (at least version 1.3 or 1.4)
  • Solid knowledge of PHP 8.x, Symfony 6/7, and Doctrine ORM
  • Familiarity with the Sylius 2.0 architecture (resource layer, API Platform integration, new stack)
  • Experience with database migrations in production environments
  • Confident with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized development environments (Docker)
  • An independent, structured way of working with high quality standards

Strong Plus (but not required)

  • Experience with Sylius plugin development or customization
  • Knowledge of digital financial products or regulated markets
  • Experience with API Platform and REST/GraphQL APIs
  • Contributions to open-source projects, especially in the Sylius ecosystem

What We Offer

  • 100% remote work and flexible working hours
  • Competitive compensation, with additional benefits such as VSOP and token allocations
  • Direct collaboration with founders, senior engineers, and licensed partners
  • The chance to shape our finance and administration function from the ground up
  • Real ownership over your processes, your structures, your decisions
  • Work in a fast-growing company in one of the most dynamic areas of finance
