About tokenforge

At tokenforge, we're a lean, international team building asset lifecycle management software for digital financial products in regulated capital markets. We work hands on, take ownership, and care about building software our clients actually rely on. Engineers, designers, compliance, and founders work side by side, with flat hierarchies and short decision paths. Everyone has a voice and can contribute ideas. We're looking for an experienced Sylius developer to build new features on Sylius 2.0 and bring existing domain requirements, product logic, and proven concepts from our Sylius 1.4 platform into the new architecture. This isn't a 1:1 code migration — it's a clean reimplementation on a modern technical foundation. You'll work closely with the Lead Developer and the product team and help us evolve the platform to be functional, stable, and future-proof.

Your Responsibilities

Feature Development on Sylius 2.0

  • Develop new features and extensions on the Sylius 2.0 architecture
  • Implement customizations in line with product and regulatory requirements
  • Work with the Sylius 2.0 architecture, API Platform, and modern Symfony components
  • Develop and maintain Sylius plugins, bundles, and project-specific extensions
  • Actively help shape a new, maintainable, and scalable codebase

Porting Existing 1.4 Features

  • Analyze and document existing 1.4 features that need to be brought into the 2.0 environment
  • Reimplement selected features on the Sylius 2.0 architecture
  • Refactor domain logic where it makes sense, rather than carrying over historically grown structures
  • Port and refactor existing customizations to the new architecture
  • Coordinate closely with the migration developer to manage dependencies
  • Ensure functional equivalence of migrated features through targeted tests

Quality & Collaboration

  • Create and maintain unit and integration tests for the components you build
  • Code reviews and active knowledge sharing within the team
  • Continuously improve code quality, performance, and maintainability
  • Document the solutions you build and the technical decisions behind them

Your Profile

Required Skills

  • Solid experience in Sylius development, ideally with Sylius 1.x and/or 2.0, plus strong knowledge of PHP 8.2+, Symfony 6.4, and Doctrine ORM
  • Good knowledge of Sylius 2.0 concepts (resource layer, API Platform, new stack)
  • Experience developing and customizing Sylius plugins and bundles
  • Understanding of domain-driven design principles and clean software architecture
  • Confident with Git, Docker, and modern CI/CD workflows
  • Strong communication skills and enjoyment of teamwork in a distributed, international setting

Strong Plus (but not required)

  • Knowledge of Sylius 1.4 and an understanding of the differences from the 2.0 architecture
  • Experience with API Platform, REST, and GraphQL
  • Background in fintech, banking, or regulated environments
  • Interest in digital financial products, tokenization, or crypto assets
